the process
Inspiration. Each piece begins with a mood board that identifies and captures a feeling.
Palette. The colour palette is defined by hand blending wool. If this was a painting, this is where the paint would be mixed on a palette.
Texture. The blended wool is hand spun into heavily textured art yarn. Every batch is organically unique.
Structure. This is where the tapestry takes form. The art yarn is hand woven onto the loom. Each individual section of yarn is given the space and attention it needs.
Exhibit. The tapestry is mounted onto a canvas frame. After a few more finishing touches, the artwork is ready to be installed.
